So I’m a person who lives off of take-out, canned soup, popcorn, stir-fry and grilled cheese sandwiches, but as I am getting older and wiser (okay, just older), I’ve decided in the New Year to make some changes for my health. When I saw this book, so when I saw the title “Quick 5 Ingredients AND/OR 15 Minutes Meal Recipes” I knew I had to check it out. And I’m sooo glad I did! This book really does break everything down, including: approaches to cooking, eight tips for how to buy fresh foods for quick preparation and what types of foods you should keep as staples in your pantry to facilitate easy, quick and flavorful meals. I also loved the recipes! The salmon bagelwiches are tasty, and I’m excited to try out the cumin rubbed pork chops. I’d never thought to combine cumin with pork chops, but these are two of my favorite things so yay!In short, this is a great addition to your cooking library! Or a good start to a cooking library. And it’s something you can read on your iPhone, which I appreciate. Highly recommended!

I have been cooking for 50 years, so I do have a bit of experience behind me. Being disabled has certainly reduced the amount of time I now spend in the kitchen. This cookbook has been a great help to me. Quick easy recipes are now a must. The instructions are clear and concise, and I love the nutritional info with each recipe. Being diabetic and watching my crab and salt intake can be sometimes a bit tricky when you are only guessing. No more estimates when using any of these recipes. Yeah!!! This is a really good cookbook for anyone, no matter who you are from the novice to the 50 year veteran.
My wife and I are always looking for new ideas for fast and easy meals. We have marked a number in this one to try. Look to be pretty straight forward. Like most cookbooks there are a number of recipes we will never use as we don't like the ingredients but there a number that we will certainly try.
This would be a good addition to a cookbook library for beginning cooks or someone who doesn't like to cook and needs easy. It also is a good addition for those of us who have simply gotten to the point of enjoying easy.
I must say i was a little bit skeptical at the beginning, but this recipe book turned out to be one of my favorites. There are plenty of delicious and simple recipes to choose from.The nutritional information was good. Ingredients were easily obtainable and directions were simple to follow. I had the opportunity to try to recipes too which was cool. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has little time to prepare meals and lack inspiration in their recipes.
I counted 3 pics in the whole cookbook. Here is a warning You can get dinner on the table
much faster using her techniques. The problem is those techniques involve buying pre-chopped
and pre-prepped ingredients that add exponentially to your grocery costs. It is not cheap to
cook using her techniques.
The recipes are not involved but are basic aimed at a person who knows little about cooking
which can get you into the kitchen which is a good thing. I also appreciate that the author
gives food nutritional values and calories per serving often missing in cookbooks.
I suggest a longer book at a higher price with pics of all the creations.

Powell did a great job putting this recipe book together. It's full of simple practical and very creative recipes that will help you get food on the table faster! I know in my house fast is never fast enough!

This book has it all. Quick tips, unique simple recipes, nutritional information and it's all delivered in a smooth and experienced tone. Bottom line? Grab this recipe book. You won't be disappointed!
Less and less people are heading to their local fast food restaurant on the way home from work. But.. what if we want something quick and easy?…… it can be very tempting to go the fast food route.
That’s where this book comes in….
As well as listing the staples keep in your pantry… the author gives a heap of delicious quick and easy recipes… I’m working my way through the book and making a few of them my regulars.
There is nothing more frustrating than not having the necessary ingredient in your pantry when you're trying to whip up a meal. This is a gem of a recipe book has an excellent "15 minute Pantry" section where the author list all the staple items that ought to be in the pantry. I find this checklist very useful as the items are neatly categorized (e.g. freezer case, deli, meat and seafood counter, produce department, etc). The author then organizes the recipes into Chapters (chap 1 Breakfast; chap 2 Appetizers, Snacks, Beverages, chap 3 Desserts, chap 4 Main Dishes, chap 5 Salads & Dressings, chap 6 Sandwiches & soups, and chap 7 Side Dishes).
